Les Adorables...

I love Meryl Streep! I'm so happy that she won. Totally deserved it. I watched "The Iron Lady" Sunday night and it was brilliant. And OMG - I love her speeches. The Golden Globe's one was really funny. The Oscar one was too, but also very emotional and touching. And she looked fabulous. Imagine, being nominated 17 times already... Oh, and I really liked Colin Firth's introduction of all nominees but one could see that he had a special relationship with her.... (All the other 4 nominees were great but I was rooting for Meryl from the start!) Oh, and don't miss the BAFTA Awards... playing a bit of Cinderella, losing her shoe on the way up to the stage and Colin Firth (who was actually introducing the nominees at all 3 events and every time handing the award to Meryl, as it is...) picking it up for her. Good to see she does not take herself too seriously...

Must see! Unfortunately I'm gonna miss the first movie night of the Wiener Euro-Asiatisches Forum / Венский Евро-Азиатский Форум" because we've already got tickets for the Musikverein next Friday. And they're gonna play Tchaikovsky. I'm really torn this time... And I'd so love to see this one in company. (I have this thing for Russian Marine uniforms... one of the reasons why I've always loved Sean Connery in "The Hunt for Red October" so much!) Aaaahhhhh.... *huge sigh*

I promised a friend to watch it with her (not before June anway...). I'm actually not such a big fan of Kristen Stewart, but I do like Charlize Theron a lot as well as fairytales and costume films. And it's from the producers of "Alice in Wonderland" so I have a bit of hope...

Last night I finally managed to watch this incredible movie. I had it at home for some weeks already but somehow never had the time to watch it - or didn't feel like doing so. I had some high expectations on that one so... I was in a bit of a melancholy mood yesterday and thought this might cheer me up (and at the same time satisfy my need for some drama and tears...)! It's such a feel-good movie. When it's over, actually. And Sandra Bullock was amazing, indeed. I was crying thoughout the first hour... Okay, I'm always crying at movies. (At most of them, anyway. Maybe because I like drama and sad stories without happy endings much better than comedies.) It was just so sad when he was walking around all alone, having nowhere to go and noone to talk to. But I really felt happy after seeing it because it's so nice and warm and touching... Some may think it gets kitschy in the end... I still like it. (And I'm not so into the Happy-Family-Movies at all...)

The Year 2041.

Alex, a renowned cybernetic engineer returns to Santa Irene to carry out a very specific mission for the Robotic Faculty: the creation of a child robot. During the ten years he has been away from there, life has moved on for his brother David and for Lana, who after his departure, got her life back together.

By coincidence Alex's routine is altered in an unexpected way by Eva, who is Lana and David's amazing daughter. She is a very special, charismatic little girl. She and Alex have a special connection from the first time they meet.

Been at the cinema yesterday, here in St. Petersburg (the Avrora movie theatre on the Nevsky Prospect) and saw a Russian classic. In Russian of course. It was amazing. And I got most of it...haha. It's been ages ever since I read that book but it definitely helped understanding the story. I'm so proud of my language skills right now. ^_^ And the cinema itself was really cool. A great hall - like for ball room dancing - with single armchairs to sit in and a bar in the back. Very fancy! But at a regular price. Loved it!

I've loved the book. I've even given it as a present to my own best friend because I loved the story about friendship with all its up's and down's, woven into the history of 19th century China....

OMG! I've always been a huge fan of the story by Alexandre Dumas. I think I've seen every movie ever made based on the novel. Plus... this is Christoph Waltz, Matthew McFadyen, Luke Evans and Orlando Bloom in one movie! What else can I ask for?!

I like Kirsten Dunst. A lot, actually. I liked the trailer. I'm not so into Lars von Trier, though. Seen quite a lot of his films but they always leave me with mixed feelings afterward. Somewhere between "Like" and "Not Like" and "Don't know"... I know he's not "mainstream" and that's okay for me when it comes to movies. But then again... I suppose I'll never be his biggest fan.

Den möchte ich unbedingt sehen. Seit längerem mal wieder ein deutscher Film, der mich interessiert. Liegt wohl an dem Bezug zu Geschichte und Russland... Schwere Kost, sicherlich. Die Kritiker hat er schon überzeugt. Jetzt bin wohl ich dran... Muss also nur noch jemanden zum Mitschauen finden!
